Zali Collymore-Hussein has over 25 years’ experience in the design and delivery of Computing/ ICT training for teachers in a range of settings from school level to borough wide, and across phases. She is a Stem Ambassador, a Code Club volunteer and is involved in supporting the BBC’s School Report Team to incorporate the new computing curriculum into their project. More recently, Zali has finished working on a 2 year, European funded research project with Goldsmith’s College’s, ‘Teaching Teachers to Teach with Technology’.  This has given her the opportunity to investigate the strengths and weaknesses of training models and confirmation of why teachers are still struggling with technology in the classroom.

Zali is currently funded by the Mayor’s London Schools Excellence Fund in a computing project with two Primary Schools and a Secondary School. The aim of the project is to increase the computer programming knowledge and confidence of KS1-KS3 teachers to deliver the new Computing Curriculum. Teachers will be supported to develop activities that are fun and foster pupil creativity, reasoning and problem solving. The project will come to a close in August 2014.
